Notes that bring me back to myself

這大概我最喜歡的一張巴黎的照片。那天我們走過整個巴黎中心，往巴黎鐵塔走去，

看鐵塔越來越大，然後決定在Champ de Mars午餐。草坪上躺著很多曬太陽的巴黎

人，多半是學生，或看書，或只是坐著躺著發呆，也有陷入生活困境的東歐移民，向

三三兩兩草地上休憩的人討零錢。這是平實的巴黎。我們伸長腳躺下，讓陽光曬在臉

上，仰看巴黎鐵塔，看它佔領天空。他說有時他都忘了自己的國家如此美麗，而我訝

異於一個擁有悠久歷史的文明古國，是可以這樣豪氣地張揚其富庶，我是小島的子民

，我們的國家沒有這個。

This is surprisingly one of my favorite pictures taken in Paris.  We were

 taking a walk in Paris from Ile de la Cite along the Seine and reaching

Champs-Elysee.  The free wandering leads to the garden of Champ de

 Mars, so we simply decided to stay for a picnic.  Here we lay down,

stretched our legs, and ate the baguettes with overwhelming stuffings.

We were always hungry for food here.  It occurred to me: “what a

strange but romantic idea to lie here watching Eiffel tower while

chewing?”  So here it is, surrounded by more down-to-earth Parisians,

who were simply enjoying sunlight, the picture was taken.
